Kitchens Bedrooms Bathrooms KBB Magazine features Shere Kitchens, Guildford, Surrey; exploring the clever use of colours threaded throughout this open-plan orangery style kitchen extension.
The beautiful colour palette for this country kitchen extension includes a rich red, a soft green, a light neutral and stained oak. All inspired by a treasured Vintage Suzani and the grounds in which the house sits, with deep borders and mature trees.
A framed Suzani, hangs above the sofa in the family room directly off the kitchen dining area. The exquisite red embroidery inspired the rich red tones used on the walls of the cosy snug (Red Earth, F&B), the Armoire by the dining table (Bronze Red, Little Green) and the internals of the glazed cupboards (Picture Gallery Red, F&B). It's the perfect amount of red, threaded through the open-plan kitchen, dining, living room to give a punch of character and warmth.
The timeless and traditional custom-made kitchen cupboards were painted in Shaded White, F&B, keeping the southwest facing space airy, classic and light.
The soft green (Treron, F&B) was picked for the kitchen Island, designed to be sociable with seating on two sides.
The beautiful bespoke Oak top on the Island and the open shelves by the sink were carefully stained to match the finish on the floor. Dark and grounding but warm with red undertones.
While the kitchen and dining area are serene, the snug is cosy, the walk-in pantry and utility are drenched in a punchy sunny yellow from floor to ceiling. The Pantry and Utility images can be seen on our Petworth Kitchen page HERE.
