Every kitchen that we build is a one-off - completely bespoke and designed individually for you and your property. As Master Craftsmen we can make any style, proportions, or mouldings - there are no restrictions on worktop materials, handles or paints for your kitchen. This opens a world of possibilities and choices which could seem overwhelming, but we will guide you collaboratively through the process.
“Shere Kitchens created a stunning kitchen. We worked together on the design to carefully consider our space and lifestyle, and they made it by hand just for us.”
Mr & Mrs E.C, Guildford, Surrey
The first stage of the design process is all about us understanding your vision for your kitchen renovation. The consultation will either be at our workshop or via video call, depending on the Covid-19 restrictions.
We invite you to talk to us - it is an opportunity for us to understand your brief and to think together about your space, any challenging areas, storage needs, and colour palettes. If you have images to show us please bring them as it helps us to understand your style. We will share our portfolio, pictures, and samples.
Details we will need from you
Once we understand your requirements we will develop an estimate. We will call you to discuss our initial thoughts, your options, timescales, and the estimated costs.
If you are happy with our estimate, we have a conceptual design service. The design fee is £500 and will be offset against the price of your kitchen when you proceed to the detailed design stage.
We’ll sketch ideas in line with your brief, the architecture of your home and your budget. The service includes a bespoke CAD plan and 3D renders to help you visualise your new kitchen. We like to have time to mull over options to make the design special for you so this usually takes around two to three weeks.
And now the exciting part - we invite you to meet with us so that we can present our ideas and talk through the key features of your design and options for your kitchen. Following the presentation and included in the design fee is one further amendment to the design plan.
We hope that this gives you the chance to get to know us and see if we are a good fit for your project in terms of design and budget.
Our design service is very popular and requires a significant time commitment from us. In order to proceed with detailed design stage we therefore require a 10% deposit.
When you commission us, the exciting and meticulous planning really begins. We discuss the initial design with you - exploring the features you love and tweaks you would like to incorporate in your detailed design.
We always highlight where a design amendment would result in a change to the original estimate to help you decide whether you want to include it.
As everything is custom made we can continue to develop the layout and finer details of your kitchen as your project progresses.
“The best place to start is with ‘What’s important to you?’ We work with our clients to carefully think about how they live and develop their kitchen design to make the most of their space and time.
We are all fixated on attention to detail and working towards a stunning and practical design every time. It’s got to be a balance with strong functionality supporting a stunning design.”
