A favourite Christmas from my childhood was one spent in France with my Aunt in her country house near Giverny. I was probably around eight years old. I don’t remember any of the presents, but I do remember the taste of French chocolates and the design of the kitchen. It was stuffed full of beautiful old crockery with a time worn wooden table. Tea, jam and croissants. Perfect.
