Bifold or crittall style doors are a key part of many kitchen extensions and renovations these days. Now more than ever we want to feel that connection to nature by linking our outside and inside spaces. Throughout the seasons we want to benefit from our little slice of greenery pouring in our windows, to be able to fling open the doors and draw in fresh air. With more of us working from home now, flow between the kitchen and garden is really important, to nip out for a morning coffee, to collect fresh herbs, to entertain friends and family. This open plan kitchen design has two sets of doors onto the garden. The crittal doors seen in the photo lead out onto an open patio with a herb garden and low maintenance planting – hardy shrubs and some evergreens. While the other set of doors by the dining table and drinks area lead out onto a covered outside lounge, complete with outside sofa and rug.
