A bank of tall cabinetry in the kitchen is often a key component in our designs.
In this family home, full height cupboards line the back wall, housing a pantry, freezer, ovens, fridge, and breakfast cabinet complete with coffee machine and toaster behind bi-fold doors. Practicality and accessibility were key points in the brief for this scheme, and the bank of cabinets creates good storage space as well as giving ultimate convenience in terms of refrigerated, frozen and dry foods being all in one zone of the kitchen.
There are some different style options that can be used for floor to ceiling cabinets. Kitchens cupboards can be streamlined to blend seamlessly into a wall. Or, as featured here the cabinetry has a break front in the centre, so the freezer, ovens and fridge sit slightly further forward than the pantry cupboards at either end. This is a practical option as it provides more depth for the appliances which require ventilation space behind them. It also creates a nice feature and is the aesthetic that the family preferred.
