Choosing your kitchen splashback

Choosing your kitchen splashback

3 minute read

With so many options, choosing your kitchen splashback can be tricky, so we thought it'd be nice to detail some of the options our specialist kitchen designers come back to time and time again.

Splashbacks are functional as well as a great opportunity to add character, texture and colour to your kitchen design. Let's consider some of our favourite options:

Antique Mirrored Splashbacks

The range cooker and cupboard run featured in this blog post are from our Clandon Farmhouse project. It shows how charming and useful an antiqued mirrored splashback can be. The kitchen area of this Grade Listed home had low ceilings and one window; so considering light was really important. The mirror reflects natural light from the window as well as the lights inside the pretty cupboards behind. It’s also lovely for the cook to use the reflection to see family and friends relaxing at the Kitchen Island.

Antiqued mirrors look great in period properties, bringing in another craft, and something suggestive of times gone by. We have a collection of hand-antiqued mirrored glass samples at our showroom.

Tiles

Tiles can add colour, texture, and pattern. A great example is the Domus Biscuit tile used behind the sink in our Dene Kitchen – to see click here.

Stone

Quartz, marble, granite, and porcelain can offer many different design types from calming and covert, to colourful and dramatic. Quartz is also particularly easy to clean. We have a fantastic range of quartz samples, as well as some large fitted pieces of quartz, marble and Dekton at our showroom if you would like to view them, please do book to visit us.

Our Arundel project with Interior Designer Belle Hadley is worth a look to see how classy high quartz splashbacks can look. Belle selected a natural marble feel, with stunning veining and requested an artistically high splashback, with a simple shelf on top to display family treasures and useful things like salt and pepper. Glass and Metal

We’ve also used glass (painted to match the walls) and stainless steel. These are brilliant for serious cooks as they are so easy to clean. They also give a more modern look to a kitchen.

Now our design studio and showroom is open, choosing your kitchen splashback is made easier. We have a curated collection of samples to help you make choices more easily, so you can see different textures, colours and finishes alongside worktop, hardware and paint selections.

Our kitchens are all one-of-a-kind, individually designed and made to order. We make kitchens to suit you and your property. If you would like to talk to us about your project, please do contact us via [email protected] We'd be happy to arrange a design appointment at our showroom at Burrows Lea Farm, Shere, near Guildford, Surrey.
