Boot Rooms

2 minute read

Mud, mud glorious mud, cricket bats, hats, scarves, umbrellas, coats for rain, snow and British springtime. Here are some of our top tips to consider when planning your Boot Room design:

  • Create a seating area close to the external door where you can take boots off after those wonderful woodland walks. Under the bench can also be an ideal place for a dog bed.
  • Gather all your coats, gilets, jackets, parkas the lot … and see how many cupboards you’re going to need. Do your coats need the full height of the cupboard or would two hanging rails, one on top of the other, maximise hanging space?
  • Do the same exercise with boots, shoes, trainers, garden clogs etc and see how much space you need. How many shelves and at what height to accommodate different style boots?
  • If you love brollies as much as we do, a special holder looks pretty. It’s also handy for rounders bats (a personal favourite) and walking sticks
  • Drawers are useful for hats, gloves, scarves, and dog leads
  • Have more coat pegs than household members so there is space for guests

This featured boot room furniture was handmade, specifically for this space and family, by our cabinet makers in our workshop in Surrey.

Our furniture and cabinetry for utility, boot, family and dining rooms can only be ordered as an addition and at the same time as a kitchen commission.
