Enter the concept of "Bootility" – a harmonious fusion of a boot room, walk-in pantry, and utility space, meticulously designed to complement the country living experience.
Designing the perfect boot room, mud room, utility design space
The renovation brief for this country abode was comprehensive, focusing not only on a bespoke kitchen but also on crafting dedicated spaces for the practicalities of daily life. The boot room emerged as a crucial element, serving as the frontline defense against muddy boots invading the main living areas. Each facet of the cabinetry in the kitchen, walk-in pantry, boot room, and utility was carefully considered to ensure a comfortable home, efficient organisation, and an overall inviting atmosphere.
The Custom-Made Oak Bench
At the heart of this boot room stands a custom-made oak bench that seamlessly blends aesthetics with purpose. Beyond its visual appeal (we'd describe the oak as absolutely delicious) the bench provides a convenient seating area, strategically positioned for the ritual of putting on or taking off walking boots, trainers and shoes. The tongue and groove wall panelling, a touch of design finesse, not only adds warmth but also introduces a stylish element to the space. There are some key features of this custom-made oak bench:
- Height Consideration: A crucial tip for those contemplating a similar addition – ensure that the bench's height accommodates the space needed for wellies and riding boots underneath. Practicality meets design in this thoughtful consideration.
- Shelf Space with Style: Enhancing functionality, the bench area incorporates a shelf space adorned with charming brackets and hooks, offering a designated spot for coats, umbrellas, and other outdoor essentials...hockey sticks, shopping bags, and so on.

- A beautiful handcrafted open shoe and boot rack space, with slated shelves to improve airflow and boot drying

- Spacious sink for soaking clothes
- Additional countertop space which is critical when entertaining
- A drinks fridge
- Plenty of storage space for seasonal items
- Some pretty open shelving for plants and books
